Tutorial Based Work

Hello Everybody!!!!! This is the last assignment of the year! I had to use a tutorial to make a new piece of art. I made an animation in 3D and aftereffects. This was something done as a job for someone. The new things I learned how to do were using Wiggler to create a camera shake effect and using particles in aftereffects. Check it out now!

Art Deco

So I liked this assignment I was able to get it done pretty quickly. The goal was to create a Art Deco Poster. I love the look of the Great Gatsby cover so I tried to imitate it. I went with more of a steel color than the gold that you normally see with it to make it mine. I made it in illustrator using paths then expanding them and applying gradients. Really love how it turned out. Definitely going into my portfolio.

ROBS Home Improvement

This week I needed to make a logo and email newsletter for a company called ROBS Home Improvement. I used Adobe Illustrator to make the logo and Dreamweaver to make the newsletter. I really like how it turned out. The logo reminds me of old school tatoos and the newsletter is clean and professional. I liked this assignment because it was real world experience doing something for a client who had a specific goal in mind.

SLICE!!!

So this is assignment was to make a webpage old school. By old school I mean I designed the page in photoshop. Then I sliced it up and set those images as backgrounds in Dreamweaver. I thought it was fun. It was pretty simple and easy to follow. I like how my main page turned out. Anyways check it out!

Dance My Minions!

This assignment was to use the Card Dance effect in After Effects. I thought it was fun although it was a little frustrating getting things to do what I wanted them to. With more time I think this effect could be used to make some fun videos.

Wordpress

Hello Everybody! This week I made a website using wordpress. Overall I am a fan of hand coding/using Dreamweaver because of the freedom I have. I felt really confined using wordpress because it is template based and without paying you cannot customize most things. I am in the middle of the road as to whether or not I like the result, but I did like getting the exposure to wordpress in this assignment. To check out the full site Click Here

Thematic Text

This assignment was pretty fun and easy. The most time consuming part was deciding what text to do and actually doing the Photoshop work. I used Photoshop to make the images and then used Edge Animate to make the HTML 5 animation. I really like it because it is simple, but looks really cool.

Spacecapades

This assignment was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun! I love video games and getting to use the awesome game development platform Construct 2 was a great experience. I think I pushed the bounds for the assignment, but I love the way it turned out and I can definitely see using this program and possibly buying the professional version so I can sell games. Anyways if you would like to try it, check below!

CSS Template Alterations

This project was a pain to be 100% honest. I needed to download a CCS Template and modify to fit something for myself. The first template I really liked, but for some reason it had invisible HTML code that I could not find. Then I downloaded this template and had issues with the picture sizes. I sort of like the final product, but I think it would have been horrible had I not been using Dreamweaver.

Web Gallery

Hello everybody!!! This assignment was pretty simple. We needed to make a jQuery web gallery for our pictures. I enjoyed it because it was pretty easy to swap out the stuff I needed to. I will definitely be doing this on my own website because I liked how it turned out.

Shape Animation

So for this assignment I didn't really know what to do. Sooooo I made this as a spoof! The assignment was to use Adobe AfterEffects to create a vector based shape animation. It was not too hard to actually complete, but it was difficult for me to come up with an idea. I am in the middle of the road on whether or not I like this one.

Animated Gallery

I LOVED THIS ASSIGNMENT! I was confident with the assignment so I was able to play around a little bit more than normal. Because of that I ended up do a circle and rotating my camera and light around the pictures. I love how this exhibition of my art turned out. All of the animation was set up in Adobe AfterEffects and music was added in Premiere Pro. Finally, I set this up so the video can be set to a seamless loop. Enjoy!

Final Font

So this project started to get very frustrating. I could get everything except for the quote to work. The font shows that it is in there, but it won't show up when typed. Anyways, I have used Illustrator and Font Creator 4 to make this font. The theme is Hack and Slash. I will be providing a download later, but for now enjoy viewing my effort. This assignment definitely provided some useful experience.

Font Set Stage 1

Ok, so this assignment called for making the capital letters of a font set. I enjoyed making these, but they are not my first choice for a custom font. My first choice however could not be made into a vector based font. I decided to make a slice themed/Zorro font. I like the way it is turning out so far, but I am noticing when the font is small a lot of the detail is lost, so that is a problem I am facing right now. Overall I like the assignment so far. Next is lower case, numbers and some special characters.

Painting with a graphic tablet

This assignment was pretty difficult for me. The requirement was to use the pen and tablet to create a piece of art in Photoshop or Illustrator. The difficulty I had is that I wanted to make something that looked good, but I am not very good at drawing. In the end I decided to do the one thing I am ok at and that is dragons. I like how the piece turned out, but there are some things I would like to change like cleaning up the lines a little bit and working on the eye. I love the way the pink of the eye turned out I think the shading and highlighting worked better than I thought it would.

The Wall Card Designs

These are 4 cards for a card game called The Wall. The top left card is the back design I made for the game. The top right is my wall segment. The bottom left and right cards are my attack and reinforcement cards respectively.

I enjoyed this assignment because I thought it was challenging. I had many great ideas most of which I was not able to capitalize on. Overall I am happy with the outcome and the way my graphics turned out.

I used Adobe Illustrator for most of it. I did however use photoshop for my wall card to isolate it from one of my pictures and posterize it. I then brought it into Illustrator and made it a vector and added a background.

Vinyl Xbox Bling

Oh man I LOVED this assignment. I made a vinyl from scratch, design is my own and I cut the vinyl, then put everything together. It was fun! I love how it turned out.

The design is of the character I made for a side scrolling flash game and I designed this just to put on my xbox.

The design was made in Illustrator and then I used the CutStudio program to send the design to the vinyl cutter. I made 2, one of which I lined up without any help, the second I used a lightbox for.

I think I did a good job on this assignment and I also love the way it turned out. I can see myself doing more vinyl stickers in the future.

This was an assignment where I made layers in Photoshop, then animated the brushes in flash. I was trying to show the "model" getting covered in ice then his inner power destroys the ice. In Flash I did frame by frame animation and tried to mimic the motion of frost/ice and flames with the masks. I like how the assignment turned out, however I did not like the brushes for masking in Flash. If I do this in the future I think I will bring in a separate shape/brush from Photoshop to make a nicer/sharper mask.
